The Special Collections at UNSW Canberra houses 13,500 rare books and 350+ manuscript collections as well as theses, videos, maps, Commonwealth records, photographs, slides, and negatives. We provide both physical and digital access, to support UNSW Canberra’s teaching, learning, and research needs.

Our research materials are unique and of lasting value, with nationally important Australian military history and Australian literature materials. We also have significant holdings in Australian exploration literature, English literature, and general Australian history.

Special Collections is a separate administrative unit operating under the strategic guidance of the Associate Dean Special Collections, Professor Nicole Moore, and physically located in Building 13 (Academy Library).
