The possibility of conflict, including armed conflict, extending to outer space exists.

Increasing geo-political polarisation, and the congested and contested nature of outer space ensure that cooperative use of space is always fragile. The exploitation of, or interference with, space-based commercial, communications, navigation, and sensing functions and capabilities thus touches upon myriad strategic, operational, regulatory, and governance challenges.

Presenters

Professor Rob McLaughlin, Professor of Military and Security Law, School of Humanities and Social Sciences

Associate Professor Stephen Coleman, Associate Professor of International and Political Studies, School of Humanities and Social Sciences

Reverend Dr Nikki Coleman, School of Humanities and Social Sciences
