This collection contains the papers of playwright Clem Gorman, including diaries, notebooks, correspondence and drafts
1950-1990
Playwright Clem Gorman (also known as Brian O’Connell Gorman) was born in Perth in 1942. He studied at the University of Western Australia followed by the University of Sydney. Gorman founded the Australian Free Theatre Troupe in 1967, then moved to London in 1970 to work in the theatre industry. He began his writing career and returned to Australia as a freelance playwright following the staging of his second play. Gorman has also written numerous books, and worked as a teacher, a freelance journalist, and a musician
