Biographical Note

Poet and author Jeri Kroll was born in New York City in 1946. After completing her studies at Smith College, Massachusetts, University of Warwick, UK and Columbia University, New York (where she attained her PhD), she moved to Australia in 1978. Her career included positions at several tertiary institutions teaching literature and writing, as well as work as a freelance writer and a community arts worker. She has been a literary producer for radio 5UV, particularly Writers’ Radio and Authors’ Proof, along with conducting interviews with writers.

Initially writing poetry and short stories for adults, Kroll’s published works also include several books for children, school readers, and articles on Samuel Beckett, contemporary poetry and the pedagogy of creative writing.
