Overview

Effective stakeholder management is critical to building coalitions, achieving outcomes and ensuring the success of your work. Genuine stakeholder involvement will provide expertise, reduce risks, ensure project success (increase probability), get project acceptance and increase trust making.

This stakeholder management course delivers the principles of effective stakeholder management in everyday working situations. We will consider a wide range of stakeholders and examine stakeholders from a variety of perspectives, including power and interest dimensions, and in so doing, develop techniques for effective engagement with your stakeholders.

  • Strategies to manage different stakeholder types.

The stakeholder management course is for any member or leader in Defence, Industry and Government groups. The content in this course can be applied to a range of problem-solving situations from team management, and public services decisions to the defence and industry sectors.

Travis Hunt 

Industry Specialist, Capability Systems Centre, UNSW Canberra

Travis  Hunt is a Defence Industry Specialist within the UNSW Capability Systems Centre.  He holds an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master of System Engineering from UNSW.  He is a Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia and was awarded Certified Practicing Project Director (CPPD) status by the Australian Institute of Project Management.  Travis’ professional career has spanned engineering and project management roles across Defence and into defence industry. Projects have included organisation transformation, capability delivery and development of advanced systems.

As an Industry Specialist, his research and education interests include system engineering, mission engineering and project delivery. Travis is particularly passionate about how contemporary and emerging system engineering and modelling practices can enhance communication and collaboration within multi-disciplined project teams.
